In May, one of our favorite places downtown turns ten, but Robinson Film Center is giving everyone else a gift to celebrate! “We wouldn’t be here today without the unfailing support of the community, and this is our way of saying thanks,” said RFC Executive Director Meghan Hochstetler. 10th Anniversary Free Movie May launches on Tuesday, May 1, when RFC will also celebrate with a 10th birthday party from 6-8 p.m. at the film center, 617 Texas Street in downtown Shreveport. You can thank a grant from the City of Shreveport for this special bit of love and lagniappe, but it’s up to YOU to call for reservations for the movies you wish to see. To reserve tickets for a movie, call the RFC box office at 318.459.4122. There is a limit of four tickets per screening per person. Unclaimed tickets will be released 15 minutes before each screening. Groups of 10 or more can also make reservations by contacting Jennifer Garcie at 318.459.4113 or jgarcie@robinsonfilmcenter.org. Rewind: The Dark Knight 10th Anniversary –8 p.m. May 3 & 2:30 p.m. May 6, presented by Maccentric. We don’t joke around about free movie tickets … or 10th anniversaries! We’re celebrating RFC’s 10th with a screening of Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight,” also celebrating its 10th!
